This Month in Worship
 February 2010
The last two Sundays of Epiphany provide an
appropriate lead in to the season of Lent. On
February 7th, the command of Jesus to Peter
to go fish in deeper waters invites us to go
deeper in our spiritual lives. On Transfiguration
Sunday, we’ll be praying that our congregation
will be transfigured for service. Three days
later, the season of Lent begins with a service
with the imposition of ashes. This year during
Lent our mid-week services will focus on the
Lord’s Prayer. Moving through the first two
Sundays in Lent the gospel lessons call us to
consider temptation in our lives and the ways
we resist being God’s children. To go beyond
the shallow things that fill our lives plan to
faithfully attend worship this month on Sundays and Wednesdays.
