“Let love be genuine; hate what is evil, hold fast to what is good; love one another with mutual affection; outdo one another in showing honor. Do not lag in zeal, be ardent in spirit, serve the Lord. Rejoice in hope, be patient in suffering, persevere in prayer. Contribute to the needs of the saints; extend hospitality to strangers.”

Romans 12:9-13

Ministries and Community Outreach

Glorifying God through
Community Service

At Lutheran Church of the Messiah, we feel passionately that it is our responsibility to serve our greater community.  Our commitment to outreach is so strong, in fact, that this is one of the cornerstones of our mission statement: “To glorify God while attending to the needs of the community.”

We provide a spiritual presence in our community through public and private worship, and by witnessing through our very lifestyles.  Through faith and love, we support and serve one another to strengthen our homes, our community, and God’s world.

Who We Are, Is God’s Gift to Us
What We Do With It, Is Our Gift to God

There are countless ways you can contribute your time and talent to glorify God through community outreach programs at Messiah. Contact the church office at (404) 373-1682 to get involved today.

The Worship Committee ensures our worship services are conducted following the doctrines established by the Lutheran Church and our own unique interpretation of Christ’s Word.  They are responsible for every aspect of the worship service.  This busy group coordinates ushers, acolytes and crucifiers, lectors, and tape ministry.  They also ensure the services are appropriate for the season.

Learning Committee
This active group is responsible for creating all of the educational programs at Messiah.  With guidance from the ELCA, they select curriculum for our children’s and adult programs.  They coordinate all aspects of programs including soliciting volunteers to creating the media that will be used during the learning sessions.  Volunteers interested in nurturing our faith through education are always welcome.
